Achievement Tests

This week, we are conducting achievement tests in all grades.  Students should be on time, and absences should be limited to absolute necessity only.  Students who are tardy will not be allowed to enter the classroom once the test has started and will have to stay in at recess to make-up any portion of the test they missed.  It is important that children get a good night's rest each night prior to the test and eat a good breakfast  in the morning.  There will be a snack time each morning in every class.  Parents should send a quick, nutritious snack for this break.  Students should bring two No. 2 pencils for taking the test.  Please encourage your child to do his or her best without creating undue stress.

The office will not interrupt class to deliver forgotten items, messages, or lunches. As always, parents are not allowed to go to the classrooms without checking-in with the office first.
Thunder Run
The event is not over yet,
keep collecting those pledges ...
Collection envelopes are due FRIDAY.

If you have any questions, please contact Dana Whitworth at 734-3771.
Teacher Appreciation
buzz bookCDS will honor our teachers next week - April 26-30. Room mothers are busy making plans. The PTF will kick off the week with a teacher luncheon this Friday, April 23.

Lunch Sitters
Lunch sitters are needed for the Teacher Appreciation Luncheon on Friday, April 23. Sitters will need to arrive by 11:45 and plan to stay until 1:00.  Please contact your room parent if you would like to lunch sit.

Be a Parent Pal
We need a few extra parents to be "Parent Pals" and a few creative parents to decorate the doors of speciality teachers and staff on Sunday, April 25 from 1-5 p.m. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Barbara Evans at 409-7531.

Room Parents
If you would like to be a lunch sitter, bring a special treat, help decorate the classroom door, or help out another way, please contact your room mother.  See the Buzz Book for a complete list of room mothers.

We hope everyone will take the opportunity to recognize the hard work and dedication of our
CDS teachers.
Cookie Dough Delivery - Thursday, April 22
cookie picThe cookie and pretzel dough from the eighth grade fundraiser will be delivered this week. Our plan is to distribute the small orders to the classrooms this Thursday afternoon for students to take home at dismissal. The larger orders must be picked up in the kitchen serving area adjacent to the Fellowship Hall on Thursday afternoon from noon until 4 p.m. We will have carts available to help you transport the boxes to your vehicle.

The cookie and pretzel dough are perishable and cannot be left unrefrigerated/frozen for more than a few hours, so you will need to make plans accordingly to store and/or deliver you items promptly. Our eighth graders really appreciate everyone's support of this fundraiser to help keep their graduation trip as affordable as possible for everyone!

If you are not able to pick up at this time, contact the chairperson, Treena Thomas, to make other arrangements Treena can be reached at (901) 233-2165 or by email at ktbb0312@comcast.net.
Summer Mailings
If you have a new email address, moved to a new address, changed phone numbers (home, cell, or work),  or if any of your emergency contact numbers have changed, please call or email the office so we may update your records.
